Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an distinguished chair in psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is often credited for beginning the current scientific study of children's memories of eyewitnesses and children's victim witnesses within legal situations. Professor Goodman has published extensively, received many grants and received numerous national and international distinctions. She has worked with a variety of government agencies and institutions all over the world to conduct studies and policy issues pertaining to children who have been people who are victims of the law. She acts as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a Fellow in the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 55). She is a founding member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
